PROJECTS - University of Bath, Department of Estates

Whilst employed here full time, Debbie’s role of Planning and Records Manager included responsibility for the development of Estates computer systems and quality management system.

Collecting the department’s requirements first, Debbie worked with a web developer to create simple web based systems (using Archibus data tables) for:

• online contractor inductions, including four bespoke films and four tests

• space management (to improve reporting to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA))

• reactive and planned maintenance work screens

Debbie also lead projects to:

• improve quality - attaining ISO9001 certification for the Department of Estates, building an effective quality management team and building staff quality awareness

• improve health and safety practices - completing a thorough audit for compliance with HS(G)65 and reviewing existing procedures

• improve communications - leading a team to define structures for regular newsletters and managed noticeboards
