During her years in a maintenance / project management role, Debbie was often required to take on more work than she could deliver to the high standards she set herself. On those occasions, driven by her willingness to help her internal customers, she would spend many a late night or weekend working to ensure she could handle it. No-one really minds putting in the extra effort on occasions, but when that effort becomes the norm then it’s time to admit something has to give. She would often look around for help, and was disappointed there was no one available that could just step in and look after some of it for her whilst she concentrated on the rest of her job.
As a professional manager she wanted to keep a close eye on what was going on. She was loath to commit to a lengthy contract with an expensive external maintenance company. Similarly, she was not really convinced a pricey consultant was the right solution. She needed someone to organise her maintenance and projects on her behalf, not someone to tell her how to do it better.
So that’s the route of the idea behind this business. Debbie Carless is someone you can call to help. Think of her as a Maintenance Nurse. Hence the company name, Aporos, meaning remedy or cure. See the services section for the sort of projects she can help you with.
